Treasuring North Sumatra Railway (KA Sumatra Utara & Aceh : Divre 1) – Pulo Brayan Railway Station

Still at the same time when I come to Belawan Railway Station, on a rainy afternoon I visited another old station, Pulo Brayan Railway Station. The station is reserved as a placeholder (Dipo) for trains in 1st Regional Division Indonesian Railway (Divre1) area. This station lies in between Medan downtown, Medan Railway Station, and Belawan Railway Station, the port city in the Northern area of Medan metropolitan.

The old station building is standing still. However due to inactivity on the station except for freight trains to Belawan Port, it is unused and looked more like a heritage building rather than an active operational station. The platform is quite spacey with some officers on standby. Train placeholder is located about 500 m in the northern side of the station.

Dipo kereta terletak sekitar 500 meter sebelah Utara stasiun.

Binjai : Tengku Amir Hamzah Street (Binjai – Stabat Sumatra Highway)

Jl. Tengku Amir Hamzah / Raya Binjai – Stabat

Distance : +/- 6 km from Binjai Bus Station to the border with Deli Serdang District
This highway in North Sumatra connects Binjai city and Stabat, capital city of Langkat District, just around 20 km from Medan. It is part of Eastern National Sumatra Highway. The street is named after a national hero from Langkat District, Tengku Amir Hamzah.

Next year, Medan – Binjai Toll Road will be used to go to/from Aceh and Langkat District at the expense of this road, thus vehicles do not have to pass through Binjai downtown.

Treasuring North Sumatra Railway (KA Sumatra Utara Aceh : Divre 1) – Bandar Khalifah Railway Station

Bandar Khalifah railway station is one of active station in Regional Division 1 (North Sumatra & Aceh) Indonesian Railways. It is the first railway station if we go from Medan city to the East, and serve the area of Percut Sei Tuan, especially Tembung city. Located around 9 km from Besar Medan City Railway Station.

The station building itself sort of heritage from colonial era (not sure if it is built during colonial era, or after the Indonesian independence), which had been revitalized several times to its stake today. A small station, but fair number of passengers are using it to travel around North Sumatra. Here are the pictures
